Development of a Cloud-based Interactive Framework for the Symbolic and Graphical Visualization of Finite Limits




Abstract:
This paper presents the development of a cloud-based learning framework designed for vocational students attending Math courses. The proposed system enables symbolic and graphical visualization of finite function limits, transforming static learning models into a dynamic, interactive environment. The framework is developed using a powerful symbolic computational engine—the Wolfram Language. It offers various finite limit scenarios, including removable discontinuities, jump discontinuities, and convergent or divergent oscillations. Each scenario includes a specific mathematical example with an appropriate graphical representation. All visualizations feature a movable point that allows students to interactively explore the function's path and observe the relationship between the local function value and its limit. Being cloud-native, the tool is highly accessible across a wide range of devices without local installation. This paper also provides an overview of the cognitive obstacles students face when learning the concept of limits, details the system architecture, and describes the logic behind the interactive scenarios selected for instructional design, along with directions for future research.
